The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a fantastic option if you're looking for a robot vacuum and mop that's mid-range. It's got a fantastic mopping capability, but it lacks some of the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

In tests it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium-pile. However, unlike other models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to help you map your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It is a powerful cleaner and plenty of features such as the self-emptying dirt container built into its charging base. It can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest schedules that are automatic to provide a hands-free and effortless experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once the system is in place, you can start automated cleaning with a single button. You can choose an overall clean, which prioritizes the removal of larger pieces of debris like cereal and rice. You can also opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your entire home is thoroughly cleaned.

This robot vac performs well on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It can take in large objects and does not lose suction as fast as some others do, and it can even remove pet hair without much difficulty. It has a difficult time with high-pile carpets or plush carpets, but iRobot says that future models will be better.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a nice improvement over the hockey puck-like design of most robovacs, though we discovered it to be only incrementally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also has superior filtration that blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. We like the statement but not enough to justify a premium price.

Its smart navigation system employs sensors that remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology for mapping the interior. It can then clean your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundary markers to ensure that the robot is aware of what areas require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it comes to robots that combine mopping and vacuuming, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vac settings are just as efficient as those found on higher-end models and its mopping system is better still--its spinning pads do a much better job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.

The only issue is the lack of a second brush to allow for more thorough cleaning. But that's not a major issue when you're looking to purchase one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank also larger than many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the maximum dirt level.

In terms of the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to remove tough dirt from my floors. The two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than high-powered settings, produce low noise, which means you can work or watch television without being distracted. It will gently bump into furniture or walls, and then move on when it encounters one.

The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical garbage into the bin hidden in the background and also washes and drys the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is capable of alerting you when something requires attention, for example, the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled vacuuming session having been canceled because of a full dust bin.

You can also create or merge actual rooms to alter the way Q Revo handles your home. This is a great feature if you have multiple areas of your home with different floor materials or if there's items that need to be cleared out frequently, such as toys, clothes, and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was among the top performers during my tests, picking up dirt from carpets and hardwoods in its first run. It is able to vacuum up wet spills. I suggest drying the area with a towel prior to sending it into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum that comes with all the features you can wish for. It has a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and empties the mop pads, keeping them fresh and ready for reuse. It also has a new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture and other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet in height and depth and weighs in excess of four pounds--the entire robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This model is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and cleans 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger, more durable dustbin to hold more debris, making it easier to empty it when needed.

Lastly, the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and a voice assistant that works offline, so you can control it even when you're not home. It also has more mopping options and an intelligent routing feature that allows you to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead just following a specific path.

The Omni X2 Omni has the top mopping performance of any robot we've tested, because of its mop pads that rotate to remove tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also top-notch, and it boosts suction when it detects carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It has a large, rechargeable battery that can last up to one week. The mopping mode of the robot is also powerful.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a top-quality model that comes with a variety of features that aren't typically found on robots of this price. It can make detailed floor maps and detect various flooring types. It's also among the few robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. But while these functions are useful but they also push the L10s Ultra into the category of luxury which could make it somewhat more expensive than what some homeowners need.

It is designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish enhanced by mirror plating and silver elements. The front of the machine has a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture while moving around your home. In the pane in the front is a second navigation technology in the form of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum there is a single button which acts as an on/off switch. By pressing this button, you can activate the vacuum, while clicking it again will turn off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The circular menu at the middle of the control panel allows you to select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map your home. This produces a precise floor plan that helps the robot vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck in messy areas. The LIDAR helps the robot vacuum avoid obstacles and recognize them, which is an excellent feature for homes with pets or small children.

The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4% of debris from our test on the hard floor and getting rid of all but the most difficult juice stain. Its mops are efficient, taking away 98.4 percent of debris from our tile, wood, and carpet tests. It wasn't as effective in removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
